Jersey retained the Men's Inter Island Challenge matchm, sponsored by Ravenscroft, after a thrilling fight back by the home side in Sunday's singles. The home side led 3-2 after Saturday's morning foursomes matches, but a 5-0 whitewash by the visitors in the afternoon fourballs, established a 7-3 overnight lead for Jersey.

However, the Sarnians came out fighting and managed to win the singles session 7-3 to draw the match. This is only the third drawn match in the event's history. Jersey Captain, Darren Attwood was pleased with the result, 'It is so difficult to win away in Guernsey, so to retain the trophy in my first match as Captain, is something I am proud of.'

There were four Royal Jersey members in the team, Gavin O'Neill, Alex Guelpa, Stanley Keites and Matthew Parkman who holes a birdie putt on the last green to secure the point that retained the trophy.

The other six members of the team were from La Moye - Jason Stokes, Kalem Sunter, Charlie Kiberd, Jo Hacker, Richard Ramskill & Jeremy Phillips.

The Seniors Inter-Insular was played at La Moye on Thursday and Friday preceding the main Challenge match and this was won by Jersey 11-4. The Thursday Fourball matches were close, with Jersey taking a 3-2 lead, before securing the singles 8-2.
